ABOUT US
What is Flashback?
Flashback is an annual production bringing together diverse groups of Cast Members from throughout the Disneyland® Resort to raise money for the benefit of a local charity.
Over the past 11 years, Flashback has donated over $220,000 to local charities as well as 300,000+ VoluntEARS hours to the Disney VoluntEARS program. There has been over 1,500 Cast Member's who have performed in the shows. Quite a big Flashback Alumni! All of this hard work earned the Flashback Cast the “VoluntEAR Leadership Team of the Year Award” given by the Walt Disney Company in 2003.
- Each of the Resort Business Unit volunteers are placed into one of four teams (Red, Orange, Green, and Blue) which are shuffled annually so Cast Members have the opportunity to build current location pride, in addition to forming new relationships.
- Flashback is comprised of four 17 minute musicals showcasing music from the 1940s through current day.
- Each year a specific theme is chosen to link the four individual musicals together. Cast Member Leadership Teams are selected through interviews to develop scripts, choreography, and to direct each of the four Casts in their rehearsals, which occur Monday-Thursday evenings, 8:30-11:30 at the Disneyland® Resort Rehearsal Halls from January-February/March. Each hour of rehearsal qualifies as one VoluntEAR hour donated to the Disneyland® Resorts.
- On the performance night, we have a panel of judges who determines which team has the most impressive production in terms of theming, choreography, vocal performance, and overall entertainment value.
