ABOUT US > History of Flashback
- Flashback began in 1998 featuring 45 Disneyland® Resort Cast Members performing to an audience of 300 friends and family in the Golden Horseshoe.
- With the growth of the Disneyland® Resort in 2001, Flashback was restructured to include Cast Members from all Lines of Business, with the goal of raising money for a local charitable organization.
- To give the Cast Members a more “hands-on” experience with the charities we developed “Flashback Playday”, an opportunity for children/participants from the charity to spend a day at the Disneyland® Resort with our Flashback Cast Members as hosts.
- In 2003, Flashback celebrated it’s 5th anniversary featuring 250 Cast Members performing to an audience of 3,300 Guests, raising $27,500 for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Anaheim. To accomplish this, 50,000 VoluntEARS hours were donated on behalf of the Cast. Due to this special anniversary occasion, we created the Flashback Gala, which is a special ticket package featuring hors d’oeuvres and desserts, a viewing of the “Making of Flashback” video at the Disney Animation, 1 Flashback Pin Set, 1 Orchestra level ticket, and priority entrance into the theatre on performance night. The Flashback Pin Sets that were sold, in addition to the Gala Tickets, contributed to the large success of last year’s donation to the charity.
